Stages in Belgium:
Via Brabançonne

chemin de compostelle Via Brabançonne

Association Belge des Amis de Saint-Jacques de Compostelle asbl.

Crossing Brussels to reach Nivelles, the Via Brabantica takes us on a tour of the pilgrims' route through the city of Brussels in the Middle Ages. This short journey from Brussels to Hal to Nivelles opens one of the gates to the Camino de Santiago leading to Paris. And what a gate! The one connecting Brussels to Paris.

This route takes us through the provinces of Brabant, both Flemish and Walloon. It passes through a number of traditional villages and along picturesque country lanes. It continues along the Via Gallia Belgica at Nivelles, which takes you to Vieux-Reng on the French border, and on to Saint-Quentin.
