The route between Oloy-sur-Viroin and Saint-Quentin via Couvin, Chimay, Hirson and Guise is not insignificant. It is a very useful connecting route for pilgrims who wish to leave the Via Mosana coming from the east, which leads more naturally to Reims and Vézelay, and take the road to Paris - Tours in the west, reaching St-Quentin. A short route serving a great journey! Indeed, connecting Holland and Germany to Thiérache in France, it continues to give the Saint-Jacques routes their identity as European routes.
