A Visit to Spy's Man
Date:
Le 19/04/2026 from 10:15 to 18:00
Location:
Devant la Gare de Moustier (Ligne Namur-Charleroi)
Category: Walking and cycling tours
Description: 18km loop starting from Moustier train station
A hike through the woods, rocks, and fields of the Entre-Sambre-et-Meuse region. The path will be fairly easy, except for one rather steep ascent and descent.
We will follow the Orneau River, the resurgence of the Betche al Rotche spring, and pass through the cave where the bones of Spy Man (Neanderthal man) were discovered. The cave overlooks the Orneau Valley, an area of rich biodiversity encompassing wetlands, woods, and limestone cliffs.
